UCT's Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment comprises six departments that cover the engineering and the built environment disciplines;
The Built Environment disciplines within the Faculty comprise the following departments:
- Architecture, Planning and Geomatics
- Civil Engineering
- Construction Economics and Management
The Engineering disciplines within the Faculty comprise the following departments:
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
It is common practise locally and internationally to incorporate these disciplines within one faculty. Your first degree is referred to as your undergraduate degree. All undergraduate programmes within the EBE faculty at UCT lead to internationally recognised professional qualifications which are accredited nationally and internationally. All our undergraduate programmes emphasise design skills, entrepreneurship and project management. Once you have completed your undergraduate degree and you wish to study further, you will be able to continue with postgraduate studies within the EBE faculty.
