Professor Nurick with the plaque given in his honor
Professor Gerald Nurick, Director of the Blast Impact and Survivability Research Unit (BISRU) is an internationally-recognised authority in blast mitigation with a career spanning 30 years.
In October, he travelled to Rhode Island, USA to deliver the opening plenary address at the Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM) Fall conference, IMPLAST 2010. In acknowledgement of his contributions to the fields of impact and blast engineering, three sessions were organised in his honour.
In December, Nurick is off to Trondheim, Norway, to give a presentation at a workshop on
