PLEASE ONLY COMPLETE THIS IF YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO STUDY AT UCT EBE, OR IF YOU WERE REGISTERED IN 2017 IN A PG DEGREE AND ARE A RETURNING STUDENT.

 Please note that UCT Students whose registration is dependent on deferred exam results from the 2017 examination session must wait until the final results of their current degree have been ratified before qualifiers can commence with the registration process.

  • Architecture, Planning & Geomatics

    Dear Postgraduate APG student

    • Please note that registration can be completed remotely any time from 8 January 2018, at which time the forms will be made available below.
    • The deadline for submission of registration documents to the Department for all programmes, both new and returning students, is 16 February 2018.
    • Please note that all South African students who are registering for an Honours in Geographical Information Systems (EH001), and Honours in Bachelor City Planning (EH009), will be part of an online registration pilot. This means that you must NOT follow the instructions below. Instead, you will be sent a system generated message and will be required to log onto PeopleSoft in order to complete your registration. All international students however, need to follow the instructions below.
    • If you will be attending any courses that start before the 16 February 2018, then you are required to submit your registration forms by latest the first day of the course.
    • If you are an International student, please ensure that you have IAPO clearance before submitting forms to your Department as the registration cannot be processed without you being cleared. See IAPO for more information.
    • For students who are registering for a research course/ dissertation or thesis, an MOU MUST accompany the registration documents.
    • Please follow and complete each step below.

     

    STEP 1:

    Download and complete the appropriate registration and curriculum form:

    1. BAS Honours

    2. Master of Architecture (Professional)

    3. Honours in GIS; Geomatics:Masters/ PhD;Mphil - Conservation of the Built Environment

    4. BCP (HONS) / MLA / MCRP / MUD / Architecture Masters and PhD

    5. PG Occasional studies

     

    STEP 2:

    If you are registering for a research masters course (60; 120; 180 credit dissertation) or PhD (360 credit) thesis then download and complete the appropriate MOU:

    • MOU – new students / Abridged MOU
    • MOU and progress report – returning students. This should have been completed with your supervisor at the end of last year. If you did complete this last year, then you need not complete a new one, you can attach the completed version. If you did not complete this, then download this and complete now for submission).

     

    STEP 3:

    If you are registering for a research masters course (60; 120; 180 credit dissertation) or PhD (360 credit) thesis please ensure you have applied for ethics clearance – more information available here.

    If you have your ethics approval, please submit your approval with your registration documents. If you are a returning student who has previously submitted this, then you are not required to submit again.

     

    STEP 4:

    Please note the following information that you need to read through:

    STEP 5:

    Please complete and sign all forms from previous steps. You only need to sign under “student signature”. You do not need to obtain the Dean’s signature, this will be done by your Departmental Administrator. You need to scan this to your Departmental Administrator (see below) for Department approval and signature. Please can you ensure that the subject line of your email is “Registration 2018”. The Department will then take care of the necessary administrative processes and submit your documents to the Faculty Office for capture.

    Based on your programme, please email your forms to the following administrators:

  • Chemical Engineering

    Dear Postgraduate Chemical Engineering student

    • Please note that registration can be completed remotely any time from 8 January 2018, at which time the forms will be made available below.

  • Civil Engineering

    Dear Postgraduate Civil Engineering student

    • Please note that registration can be completed remotely any time from 8 January 2018, at which time the forms will be made available below.
    • Students who are intending to register for the (CIV5133Z) Transport Modelling course would have already received the pre-assignment for the course, the deadline for submission of registration documents to the Department for is 25 January 2018.
    • All other programmes, both new and returning students, is 16 February 2018.
    • If you are an International student, please ensure that you have IAPO clearance before submitting forms to your Department as the registration cannot be processed without you being cleared. See IAPO for more information.
    • For students who are registering for a research course/ dissertation or thesis (45; 60; 120; 180 credit dissertation) or PhD (360 credit), an MOU which has been completed between you and your supervisor, MUST accompany the registration documents.
    • Please follow and complete each step below.

    • For all Honours programmes, both new and returning students, is 13 February 2018.
    • For all Masters and PhD programmes, both new and returning students, is 16 February 2018.
    • If you will be attending any courses that start before the 16 February 2018, then you are required to submit your registration forms by latest the first day of the course.
    • If you are an International student, please ensure that you have IAPO clearance before submitting forms to your Department as the registration cannot be processed without you being cleared. See IAPO for more information.

    Dear Postgraduate Electrical Engineering student

      • 1 February 2018 for all NEW students.
      • 16 February 2018 for all RETURNING students.
